Islandia es uno de los dos países que repite artista en esta edición de Eurovisión. Islandia ha llegado a la final en 33 ocasiones, pero sólo ha estado siete veces dentro del Top-10. El proceso de elección para ser el representante del país en Eurovisión 2024 ha estado envuelto en polémica.

El palestino Bashar Murad era el favorito y ganó la primera ronda de la final, pero en la superfinal se impuso la artista que va a actuar en Suecia en una votación investigada por fallos en la app.

Hera Bjork es la representante de Islandia para actuar en el festival. La cantante y presentadora estuvo en el certamen de 2010, en el que consiguió el tercer puesto en semifinales, aunque fue décimonovena en la final. 'Scared of Heights' es el tema que va a interpretar en busca de repetir final.
